The Phils

Well, I’ve somehow been voted into the Phils.

What are they, Quirk asks dutifully, though he is already in the Phils for no apparent reason.

Well, Quirk, they are–

I already know, Liam. “The Phils” are Philosophers of the highest order, sworn to proclaiming random philosophies for eternity minus one day.

What day is that?

I dunno, probably the end of the world.

Understood. So I am a Phil now?

Not only that, but you are the Head Phil.

Why is that?

It’s ’cause you invented the Phils for a story you were writing a while ago. I somehow was put in there, and now you’ve been voted in.

Who else is in there?

I dunno. You never specified anyone, except that one guy’s brother or something.

So what do I have to do?

Just keep doing what you’re doing: Proclaim random things to the world at random. Oh, and put either “The Phil” or “Head Phil” in your comment signature. The rest of what you do is up to you.

Okay, great. When do I start?

Right now, if you’re ready. Are you?

Yep. How do I start?

Write something worthy of a Head Phil.

Okay… This is the subject of a post I’ll do later in the week, or maybe even in the day: Inspiration hits at the most inopportune of times.

Great! Now just publish this post!

Okay, I’m clicking that… Now!

  1. Phils are a concept in your story? I do that all the time. Like star children, for example. Or the Vulnerability. I’m better at making up fake conditions than I thought. *sarcasm* It’s a lot of fun, actually. Kind of like having your own language.

Oops, I didn’t view your Originality post. I’ll go look at that now.

Congratulations on becoming Head Phil! I look forward to your post on inspiration hitting at inopportune times. That happened to me just this evening.
By the way, what happened to the red streamer thingies on your banner? Don’t tell me Quirk misplaced them…

    • Red… Streamer… Thingies… on my banner? What do you mean? OOOOOOOOHHHH! On the headline thingy, the header. I uploaded a couple of pictures for its use and put it on random, so sometimes you’ll see the old red streamer thingies (which are actually brakelights passing my camera on the highway), sometimes you’ll see white/yellow streamer thingies (headlights passing) and sometimes you’ll see nothing but black (a failed picture).

Oh, cool! The headlights are up for me now, and they’re awesome. Thanks for explaining!

Comment! I'll reply.
